Fact of the Day (Breast Cancer Awareness)

In general, developed countries have higher rates of breast cancer than developing countries. Although all the factors that make up these differences are unknown, lifestyle and reproductive factors likely play a large role. Low screening rates and incomplete reporting can make rates of breast cancer in developing countries look lower than they truly are and may also explain some of the difference.

Fact of the Day (Breast Cancer Awareness)

Lesbian and bisexual women have a greater risk of breast cancer than other women, but this is not because of their sexual orientation. Rather, it is linked to risk factors for breast cancer that tend to be more common in these women (such as never having children or having them later in life).
